I should have started blogging a long time ago. I just never took the time. So tonight I took the time to figure this out. My incentive was to see how easy it was so that I could require the students in a class I am teaching to blog. So far, so good. It is easy.
What will be more of a challenge for me is to allow myself to just write random thoughts. Things like: today I found out that my nephew, a radiologist in the US Army, will be deployed to Africa to serve as a GP in a humanitarian capacity. I didn't even know the US Army had a humanitarian presence in Africa. It made me wonder where else in the world the US military is deployed doing good for the world.
I was fortunate enough to live in Asia for 11 years. In my time there I was constantly amazed at the people who either loved or hated Americans. Surprising was the love of the Chinese for Americans. I did not expect that.
I hope to post some random thoughts, like these in the coming days, months...who knows even years.
Until then she will keep me in check.
